-El Guapo-

Taking pride in the physical form
is the norm of society.
Tight muscles,
tight jeans,
no need
for body mediocrity.
Some of the thinnest and fittest
take pride
in outward eye perfection
and temporary skin suit satisfaction.
But time will sink it's teeth
into your flesh coat of confidence
and cause decay.
One day
everyone's souls will be pulled
from our pretty plastic shells and judged.
And nothing you can purchase
or put on
can purify your insides
in the eyes of the One Beholder
who sees deep,
past style and skin
to soul and sin.

I do not think there's anything wrong with looking good. :) Interpret the rest of it how you want.

I really love this, especially these lines -
"Some of the thinnest and fittest
take pride in outward eye perfection
and temporary skin suit satisfaction.
But time will sink it's teeth
into your flesh coat of confidence
and cause decay."

Brilliant lines - "temporary skin suit satisfaction" and "your flesh coat of confidence" - really excellent!

Thanks again Susannah! I'm just happy to get input. :) I had never really written 'poetry' until January of this year. It just started coming out. So it's good to hear positive comments.
